How Dry Ice Blasting Works

Impact of pellets creates a Kinetic Energy Effect. The soft dry ice is accelerated by compressed air through special designed nozzles at supersonic speeds.

TEMPERATURE

Cold temperature of dry ice pellets creates a Thermal Effect. This causes the contaminant to become brittle, helping to break the bond between the substrate & contaminant.

EXPANSION

Dry ice pellets sublimate upon impact, causing a mini CO2 explosion while expanding in size, which lifts away the contaminant.
